Construction is underway at various locations along the Rhine railway line, stretching from Koblenz to Mainz, by German Rail.

Limited mobility options on the left side of the Rhine River due to imposed regulations in regional transportation - Limits imposed on local transportation within the Rhine region

Ever heard the saying, "Rhine, oh Rhine, where the train twists and turns?" Well, get ready for a bit of a ride! The Rhine line between Koblenz and Mainz is bracing for some serious work until mid-June, causing a few hiccups in regional traffic, as announced by the Rhine-Palatinate South Public Transport Association.

For the upcoming week, there's no major fuss between Mainz and Bingen. But from Bingen to Koblenz, buckle up! The Mittelrheinbahn, run by Trans Regio, will chug along hourly from 6:00 AM to around 9:00 PM. We're sorry to say, no additional services will be up for grabs. However, don't worry about those early mornings or late nights because good ol' replacement buses will roll out for those hours.

As for services from Mainz and Kaiserslautern, they'll call it a day in Bingen throughout the day. From then on, hourly replacement buses will rumble to Koblenz. Keep your eyes peeled for construction work in Ruesselsheim next week that might affect your trip to Frankfurt/Main. All aboard! Remember to check the current connections for the latest updates.

In light of the announced traffic restrictions on the Rhine line between Mainz and Koblenz until mid-June, the Rhine-Palatinate South Public Transport Association urges travelers to be prepared for changes in rail travel. To mitigate the impact on commuters and industry, a series of vocational training programs will be provided to mechanics and drivers within the Community policy of the Rhineland-Palatinate. The revenues from the finance department will be allocated to ensure the success of these vocational training programs and the smooth operation of transportation alternatives during the construction period.
