Get ready for a bigger bang in Omsk as they're gearing up to expand the "Avanhard" Special Economic Zone (SEZ), aiming to increase its area by 2025.
In a chatter on their Telegram channel on Monday, May 5, 2025, it was announced that starting November 2024, the corporation "AO 'OEFZ PPB 'Avanhard'" has been busy preparing an application for the expansion of the SEZ. With the growing need for infrastructure development and attracting new investments, this decision comes as no surprise.
The proposed expansion will pave the way for more investment opportunities, eventually leading to the creation of new manufacturing plants, additional jobs, and an increase in tax inflows. It is anticipated that the new territories will be annexed to the SEZ by 2025.
Remember, as of December 2024, seven residents were registered on the "Avanhard" SEZ territory with a declared investment volume of over 39 billion rubles. The actual investment reached over 4 billion rubles. In March 2025, the first manufacturing plant, a screw factory producing fasteners and connectors for the chemical, oil and gas, and energy industries, was launched in the SEZ.
Now, it's worth mentioning that earlier it was reported that new territories of the SEZ might find their home on the Left Bank of Omsk, with public hearings held regarding the proposed changes to Omsk's General Plan taking place.
