Kazakhstan Designates Recovered Funds for the Reconstruction of a Sports Stadium in the Nation's Capital

Getting a brand-new stadium in Astana! 🏟️

The Kazakh government's got some cash to spare! They're using ill-gotten gains from the Special State Fund to finance the construction of a spankin' new Kazhymukan Munaitpasov Central Stadium in Astana. This stadium's gonna cost a pretty penny - $35.5 million to be exact. Plus, it'll replace the old, crumbling one that's seen better days.

construction is all set to be wrapped up by the end of this year. 🗝️

The sad demise of the 1936-era stadium was inevitable due to its shaky foundation. But fear not, the new sports complex will boast a whopping 3,598 seats, complete with accommodations for those with disabilities. Plus, it'll adhere to UEFA's international standards. Once it's ready, the facility will become the pride and joy of the Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve No. 8, Astana Akimat (administration).

The new stadium will provide a much-needed boost to local athletes' training, offering them the best possible preparation conditions to ace their performances.

But wait, there's more! The Special State Fund has set aside over $168 million to construct no less than 16 socially significant facilities across the country. This includes funding for seven schools, two sports complexes (including our new baby), a multifunctional hospital complex, a regional ambulance station, a Center for Special Social Services, a hostel, and two kindergartens. The fund will also be used to upgrade water supply systems in the Aralsk district of the Kyzylorda Region.

So, it looks like the people of Kazakhstan are in for a series of amazing upgrades, aiming to boost living standards and infrastructure! 🎉

The government's investments include upgrades to water supply systems, construction of new educational institutions, and broader modernization of public utilities.

Examples of other projects include the completion and modernization of water supply systems in Kosshy and Makinsk (Akmola Region), the construction of a music school of arts in the village of Temirlan, Turkistan Region, and broader modernization efforts across various sectors.

Additionally, Kazakhstan is executing a national infrastructure project involving massive investments for upgrading energy, heating, electricity, water supply, and wastewater networks from 2025 to 2029, supported by the World Bank and involving approximately $30 billion in investments. This project includes plans to complete a list of water supply and wastewater disposal facilities for construction, though specific details about these projects are not provided.

In summary, the Special State Fund finances a range of socially significant facilities, including water supply system upgrades, newly constructed educational institutions, and broader public utilities modernization projects, all aimed at improving living standards and infrastructure in Kazakhstan.
