International Automobile Manufacturers Association welcomes Labbé as its latest President

The Association of International Automakers (VDIK) has announced a significant change in leadership, with Imelda Labbé being elected as its new President.

Labbé, who has spent 35 years working in the automotive industry, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has held leadership positions both domestically and internationally, making her well-equipped to lead the association.

Labbé's career in the automotive industry began in 1986, when she joined Opel. Over the next two decades, she rose through the ranks at Opel and General Motors, demonstrating her commitment and ability to succeed. In 2013, she joined the VW group, working for Škoda.

During her time at Škoda, Labbé served as CEO of Škoda Germany from 2014 to 2016. She then went on to become a member of the Volkswagen brand board, overseeing sales, marketing, and after-sales services until June of this year.

Labbé succeeds André Schmidt, who led the association during a transition period since late August. Schmidt's leadership was instrumental in preparing the association for Labbé's arrival.

While there is little publicly available information about Labbé's personal accomplishments in the automotive sector, her impressive career trajectory speaks for itself. She has worked for some of the biggest names in the industry, including Opel, General Motors, Škoda, and Volkswagen.

As the new President of VDIK, Labbé is poised to make a significant impact on the industry. Her extensive experience and leadership skills make her an ideal candidate for the role, and we look forward to seeing what she accomplishes in the years to come.
