Increasing Courier Staff Following DHL Collaboration for Evri
Delivering New Opportunities: Evri's 5,000 Job Blitz
Evri, a parcel giant, is on a roll with a massive hiring spree. They aim to bring 5,000 new self-employed couriers into their network for a nationwide delivery blitz.
The recruitment drive, set to increase Evri's courier force to an unprecedented 33,000, will cover territories beyond just metropolitan areas, with an emphasis on towns like Plymouth, Bury, Hastings, Dover, and Scarborough[3].
Variable Employment Options
Of the 5,000 positions, at least 1,000 will be on a permanent basis while the remaining 4,000 will be flexible, tailored to accommodate seasonal peaks and unusual delivery demands [2][3].
Employee Perks
New entrants to the Evri workforce can look forward to joining the "Evri Plus" scheme, a union-backed employee perks package that delivers:- 28 paid holidays- Guaranteed national minimum wage- Pension contributions- Parental leave- Additional flexible benefits[1][2]. To qualify for "Evri Plus", couriers are expected to commit to working five or more days weekly, including Saturdays and Sundays[3].
Evri and DHL's Ecommerce Partnership
Recent news has Evri merging with DHL's UK ecommerce division, forming one of the country's most significant delivery firms. The combined company is projected to deliver over one billion parcels and letters per year [1].
Evri was part of the Hermes parcel group before being sold to US private equity firm Apollo for approximately £2.7bn last year [2]. This merger opens the door for Evri to penetrate the UK business letter market, ramping up competition with Royal Mail.
Despite improvements in customer service and ratings, Evri acknowledges that more work is needed to tackle lingering delivery concerns [2]. Evri's CEO, Martijn de Lange, shared his commitment to continuous improvements in service, reliability, and quality [1].
New couriers can anticipate earning around £20.90 an hour on average [3]. So buckle up, delivery enthusiasts - the road is calling, and Evri's here to pave it!
