German Court Hands 1 Year, 8 Months to Unidentified Company Operator for Social Security Fraud
A company operator within the jurisdiction of the Main Customs Office Landshut has been sentenced to a prison term of 1 year and 8 months for serious offences. The operator failed to register employees with the competent social security authority and evaded over 125,500 euros in social security contributions.
The operator, who remains unidentified, ran a company registered in Bulgaria but with no economic activities or turnover there. Instead, it used a letterbox address. The offences included 46 cases of forced deposits and wage abuse in the food industry. Despite the conviction, no public information about the person or their place of residence could be found.
Training at the Main Customs Office Landshut will take place on September 20, 2025, in Plattling to address such cases and improve enforcement.
The conviction highlights the seriousness of the offences committed. The unidentified operator's failure to register employees and pay social security contributions has significant implications for both employees and the social security system. The upcoming training at the Main Customs Office Landshut aims to strengthen efforts against similar offences in the future.
