Ferrari debuts new 849 Testarossa as replacement for the SF90
The automotive world is abuzz with the arrival of a new Ferrari masterpiece – the 849 Testarossa. This model, a successor to the celebrated SF90 Stradale, is a testament to Ferrari's relentless pursuit of innovation and performance engineering.
The 849 Testarossa boasts a revamped appearance, drawing design inspiration from the iconic Ferrari Daytona. Deep channels down the flanks and a 'Twin Tail' rear end with an active central section give the Testarossa a distinct and captivating silhouette.
Under the hood, the 849 Testarossa houses a 3.9-litre V8 engine, with increased power of 1036bhp thanks to new cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, a revised valvetrain, and bigger turbos. The hybrid powertrain, similar to the SF90's, consists of a pair of electric motors at the front and one at the back, propelling the Testarossa from 0-62mph in a breathtaking 2.25 seconds and 0-124mph in 6.35 seconds. With a top speed over 200mph, the Testarossa promises an exhilarating driving experience.
To maintain the same weight as the SF90, the 849 Testarossa features a revised suspension setup and new tyre options. For improved traction and torque vectoring, the Testarossa comes equipped with ABS Evo brake-by-wire and the Ferrari Integrated Vehicle Estimator (FIVE).
While the UK prices for the 849 Testarossa have yet to be announced, in Europe, the Coupe is priced at €460,000, the Spider at €500,000, and the Assetto Fiorano package costs an additional €52,500.
Meanwhile, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, the first series production plug-in hybrid car from Ferrari, accelerates from 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds and delivers 1000 metric horses (986bhp) of power.
In addition to the SF90 Stradale, Ferrari has also unveiled high-performance variants, the SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider. These 'XX' track monsters are road-legal and offer an even more intense driving experience.
The 849 Testarossa, however, is more an evolution of the SF90 than a completely new model. It embodies Ferrari's latest advancements in hybrid technology and performance engineering, setting a new benchmark in the world of supercars.
Lastly, the Ferrari SF90 Spider, a new variant of the SF90 Stradale, offers open-air options for those seeking an even more exhilarating driving experience. The SF90 Spider shares the same 986bhp plug-in hybrid powertrain as the SF90 Stradale, promising an unforgettable ride.
As the 849 Testarossa makes its grand entrance, it's clear that Ferrari continues to push the boundaries of automotive innovation and performance. With its powerful engine, sleek design, and cutting-edge technology, the 849 Testarossa is set to redefine the supercar landscape.
