Federal Police Launches 24/7 Hotline for Victims of Violence at Cologne Central Station
The Federal Police is reinforcing support for victims of violence at Cologne Central Station. A new hotline is being established, supplementing existing services in Berlin and offering round-the-clock assistance.
The hotline, part of a pilot project by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, will provide a safe space for women who have experienced violence or feel threatened. It will operate from a dedicated room at the Bundespolizeiinspektion Köln, Trankgasse 11, and can be reached 24/7 via phone (0221 16093-2000) or email ([email protected]).
Staffed by trained personnel, the hotline will collaborate closely with local police and victim support services. This initiative complements the existing hotline at Cologne Central Station, which has been operational since 2016. It also extends the successful women's violence protection hotline at Berlin Ostbahnhof, which is being extended by two years due to high demand.
The new hotline at Cologne Central Station is set to enhance support for victims of violence, building on the success of existing services in Cologne and Berlin. It underscores the Federal Police's commitment to providing comprehensive assistance to those in need.
