Bugatti Unveils Exclusive One-Off Hypercar: The Brouillard

Bugatti, the renowned French hypercar manufacturer, has announced the launch of a new coachbuilding initiative called Programme Solitaire. This unique programme will produce only two one-of-a-kind vehicles annually, with the inaugural creation being the stunning Brouillard coupe.

The Brouillard, priced at a figure well north of $15 million, is a testament to Bugatti's unparalleled craftsmanship and attention to detail. It pays homage to Ettore Bugatti's beloved horse and boasts a powerful 1,600 hp 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine, built on Bugatti's W16 platform, shared with the Mistral roadster.

The exterior of the Brouillard is a masterpiece of design, with each panel telling a different story. Following classical art principles, every panel is unique, featuring custom-woven fabrics from Paris, incorporating tartan patterns and green-tinted carbon fiber. The C-shaped side elements, a nod to Ettore Bugatti's signature, maintain Bugatti's visual language while adding a touch of elegance.

The Brouillard's aerodynamic design optimizes cooling efficiency through prominent air intakes feeding through the glass roof, which creates a cathedral-like experience inside the car. The rear diffuser maximizes functional surface area through innovative exhaust packaging.

Inside, the Brouillard's interior is as impressive as its exterior. The seats feature embroidered horse motifs, and the center spine flows seamlessly from exterior to interior. The gear shifter is machined from a single aluminum block and contains a hand-crafted sculpture of Ettore's favored horse. The interior also features machined aluminum components and custom-woven fabrics, incorporating tartan patterns and green-tinted carbon fiber.

The Programme Solitaire allows deep-pocketed clients to commission wild bodywork around proven mechanicals. The fixed ducktail wing provides balance and enhances the elegant silhouette of the Brouillard. The Brouillard will make its public debut at Monterey Car Week before delivery to its owner in 2027.

Bugatti's coachbuilding roots date back to the 1930s, when they brought coachbuilding in-house, resulting in the creation of the Type 57 SC Atlantic. The exclusive nature of Programme Solitaire means availability is extremely limited, with just two bespoke cars made per year and only one Brouillard produced for the 2026 model year.

With an estimated cost between $10 million and $23 million (approx. £11m to over £23m), the Brouillard is likely to become the most expensive Bugatti ever created, making it an exclusive and coveted addition to any collection.
