Ex-minister Angela Dorn takes on role in banking industry within Hessen
Angela Dorn Joins Volksbank Mittelhessen as New General Representative
After a successful career in Hessian politics, Angela Dorn is set to embark on a new chapter as one of two new general representatives at Volksbank Mittelhessen, starting October 1st. The psychologist and former Hessian Minister for Science and Art will bring her expertise to the cooperative bank, with a focus on strategic development.
Dorn, who is 43 years old, served as the state chairwoman of the Hessian Greens from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, she was a member of the Hessian state parliament in Wiesbaden from 2009 until this summer. From 2019 to January 2024, she held the position of Hessian Minister for Science and Art. However, she is not currently a member of the Hessian state parliament or the state chairwoman of the Hessian Greens.
Volksbank Mittelhessen, which has its headquarters in Gießen, serves over 450,000 customers and employs approximately 1,500 people. The business area of the bank extends from Frankenberg in the north to just short of Frankfurt, and from Limburg in the west to beyond the Thuringian border.
Peter Hanker, the board speaker of Volksbank Mittelhessen, has stated that Dorn is set to significantly shape the strategic development of the bank with her expertise. He described her as a crisis-proven and conciliatory manager, who will bring a fresh perspective to the bank's leadership.
Dorn-Rancke, who is married and has three daughters, is not a current employee of Volksbank Mittelhessen. The announcement of her new role at the bank was made by the cooperative bank. Although specific strategic initiatives are not yet detailed, it is expected that Dorn-Rancke will leverage her expertise to drive the bank's growth and success.
Angela Dorn-Rancke was known in state politics under the last name Dorn. Her departure from politics marks the end of a successful political career, but the beginning of a new chapter in her professional life. As she embarks on this new journey, she will undoubtedly bring her unique skills and experiences to bear in her new role at Volksbank Mittelhessen.
