Customs Seize 3kg Cocaine, 10L Amphetamine in Major Drug Busts

Customs officers in Regensburg have seized a substantial amount of drugs, cash, and luxury goods in a series of operations. The discoveries include over three kilograms of cocaine and ten litres of liquid amphetamine, along with a cache of weapons and designer handbags. The investigations, involving over 85 officers, have led to detentions and fines.

The operations began with customs officers from Furth im Wald discovering over three kilograms of cocaine and ten litres of liquid amphetamine in a Bosnian vehicle. The driver initially claimed to be returning home but later admitted the drugs originated from the Netherlands.

In Berg, a Polish entrepreneur had cash seized after failing to provide proof of a truck purchase. The Regensburg District Court ordered detention for the driver of the Bosnian vehicle, with potential imprisonment of up to 15 years for significant narcotics trafficking.

At the A72 near Großzöbern, around 30 new luxury designer handbags were found undeclared in a vehicle. The passenger, a 32-year-old, now faces a tax evasion procedure and must pay import duties of over 11,200 euros.

The Munich Customs Investigation Office, along with the Regensburg Customs Office and the Staatsanwaltschaft Hof, are conducting further investigations into unauthorized trafficking routes for drugs and weapons.

These operations highlight the vigilance of customs officers in combating drug trafficking, money laundering, and tax evasion. The seizures and detentions serve as a reminder of the serious consequences for those involved in such activities.
