Complete Shutdown of Severinusstraße in Hürth-Hermülheim
The city of Hürth-Hermülheim will be undergoing a temporary closure of Severinusstraße from March 31 to approximately April 25, 2025. This closure is due to underground construction work for the renovation of the district heating pipeline.
During this period, the affected area will undergo renovation, which requires a temporary supply interruption. However, pedestrians and cyclists can continue to pass through the area without restrictions. For those who usually use public transport, it is recommended to use the regular "Reifferscheidstraße" bus stop instead. The "Weidengasse" bus stop will be skipped during the construction period.
City bus line 714 will run via Horbeller Straße and Krankenhausstraße during this time as a reroute. Traffic will also be rerouted during the construction period to ensure smooth flow and minimise disruption.
Residents in the affected area can still reach their homes during the closure. Affected households will be informed by mail about the closure and the necessary arrangements.
The renovation of the district heating pipelines in Hürth-Hermülheim is carried out by local utility companies, typically the municipal utility provider (Stadtwerke) of Hürth or contractors commissioned by them.
It is important to note that only a partial closure of Severinusstraße applies, up to the construction site at Severinusstraße 57. The local authorities appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.
