Titled: Koehler Group's New Lease on Life: A Game-Changer for the Ortenau District
Say hello to the future, folks! The Koehler Group, with over 215 years under its belt, is shaking things up with the grand unveiling of its cutting-edge new site in Willstätt. This modern marvel, spanning 23,000 m2, is home to sleek workstations designed for 170 team members, all looked after by the New Work concept. The production of KATZ beverage coasters kicked off at the site in early 2024, with the Koehler Group Campus, their apprenticeship training center, following suit in September 2024.
The new site: A testament to Germany as a thriving hub for business
The Koehler Group has deep roots, and their decisions are anchored in long-term visions, rather than short-term gains. This forward-thinking mentality led them to invest massively in the old Orsay site, securing a prosperous future for generations to come. Kai Furler, CEO of the Koehler Group, acknowledged the need for political planning security, stating that such certainty is essential for the company to grow and thrive in Germany.
Thorsten Erny, the head of the Ortenau district authority, lauded the Koehler Group's commitment to the region, referring to it as a powerful signal for their district. Since 2023, existing buildings have been renovated and repurposed in stages, with the final expansion completed by March 2025. The Koehler Renewable Energy subsidiary, established in 2012, has also set up shop in Willstätt, contributing to the nation's energy transition efforts.
Rethinking the working world: A focus on talent and flexibility
In today's competitive market, attracting top talent is more crucial than ever. The Koehler Group gets it, which is why they redesigned their working environment to suit the modern Work-From-Home era. The new site embodies a complete departure from traditional workspace structures, with flexible concepts taking center stage. Classic hierarchical offices have been replaced, allowing for more collaborative, cross-functional work that maximizes synergy and communication.
The Koehler Group Campus is another step forward for the region. By setting a new standard for training centers in industrial engineering professions, the company is investing in the development of the next generation of professionals who'll propel the region forward. Furler, representing the 8th generation within the Koehler Group, underscores the importance of training the individuals who'll become the company's resources of tomorrow.
Stay tuned for more innovations and growth as the Koehler Group continues to reshape the Ortenau district. For now, let's celebrate their dedication to turning the old into the new and investing in the future of our workforce!
