Building Two Gigawatt Wind Energy Plants in Zhambyl Region
🌪️ HOWLING THROUGH THE STEPPES: 🌪️
Y nah, check it out, say Kazakhstan's advisories. They're ’bout to spike wind power in the Zhambyl Region, big-time. Two mega-wind farms, each packing a wallop of 2 GW is what we're talkin' bout here. And yeah, they ain't just dreamin' this up, it's all been confirmed by the bean-counters at the regional office, so take it to the bank.
Now, picture this, you're in the middle of the steppe, and suddenly you got these giant windmills stretchin' out as far as the eye can see. But don't worry, it's all good, Kazakhstan's currently workin' their renewable energy game in six different zones, and they got 22 sources of clean power already, totalling 571.3 megawatts (MW), check it: six hydroelectric, ten wind, and six solar power plants.
As for these new wind farms, the Middle Eastern crew, Masdar, from the United Arab Emirates, are hell-bent on building a 1 GW wind power plant in the Sarysu and Talas districts. They expect to spend a cool 742 billion tenge (US$1.4 billion) and kick things off in 2026, with a grand unveiling set for 2029. No slackers, France's Total Eren is likewise floatin' a separate 1 GW wind baby in the Moiynkum district. They aim to plunk down one trillion tenge (US$1.9 billion) and got the land secured, with an anticipated launch in 2028.
Last year saw the commissioning of the 100 MW Shokpar wind plant in the Sarysu district, and the AEC ASA solar plant in the Zhambyl region expanded its capacity by 20 MW. Ain't no small potatoes, that's for sure! 🔥🔥🔥
