Bensberg's Ommerbornstraße to Get Major Upgrade Starting October 6
Ommerbornstraße in Bensberg is set for a significant upgrade. The road surface renovation, starting October 6, 2025, will cover the stretch between Herkenrather Straße and Straße Oberlerbach. Residents can expect a full road closure due to the road's narrowness.
The renovation will occur in three phases, lasting approximately 12 to 15 weeks. Defective drainage shafts will be repaired, and existing shaft covers and street inlets will be replaced. The sidewalk will be widened at house numbers 14 and 64. Notably, the new road surface will use asphalt with a lighter, fine-grained material for the wearing course, aiming to reduce heat and noise.
Residents can stay informed and have their questions answered at Bensberg town hall or on the municipal website at https://www.our-website.de/strassenausbau.aspx. No road construction contributions will be collected from residents for this project.
The Ommerbornstraße road surface renovation promises to improve the street's condition, reduce summer temperatures, and lower noise levels. The project is expected to be completed within 12 to 15 weeks, with no additional costs to residents.
