BEE Retail SECures First Place at 2024 LIFE 360 in Stores Prize
LVMH's Parfums Christian Dior K11 Store Wins Best Store for the Environment and Store of the Year
LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world's leading luxury products group, has once again proven its commitment to sustainability with the award-winning Parfums Christian Dior K11 store in Hong Kong. The store was recently honoured with the Best Store for the Environment and Store of the Year awards at the LIFE 360 in Stores Awards 2024.
The store's success is the result of a collaborative effort between LVMH, BEE Retail, and Swire Properties. BEE Retail, a leading green building consultancy, has been supporting LVMH's store sustainability journey since 2017. Maxime Pruvost, Co-Founder of BEE Retail, expressed pride in contributing to Dior Parfums winning Store of the Year in 2024.
The project team conducted a pre-design audit to establish key sustainability plans, achieving high energy efficiency, lighting quality, and water conservation. The Parfums Christian Dior K11 project adopted an updated version of the LVMH "LIFE in Architecture" Sustainable Store Planning Standard from the early design stage.
Innovative strategies, such as fresh air supply, air quality monitoring, and a customer reuse program, were implemented in the store to support carbon reduction and enhance health and well-being. The store's commitment to the environment is evident in its use of eco-friendly materials and waste management systems.
Antoine Arnault, LVMH Image & Environment, stated that their commitment to sustainability involves ensuring the environmental performance of over 6,000 of their Maisons' stores worldwide. This award-winning store in Hong Kong is a testament to their dedication to excellence in environmental and social responsibility.
LVMH's partnership with Swire Properties to transform 50,000 m2 of commercial spaces in China and Hong Kong with eco-design is another step towards their global environmental vision. In line with this, LVMH launched the "Unity for Change" initiative at COP28, aiming to align regional retailers with its global environmental vision.
The LIFE 360 in Stores Awards, a biannual event launched in 2016, celebrates stores with significant progress in sustainability. The awards honour stores that achieve the highest results in eight sustainability categories: Collaborative Governance, Smart Building Facade, Energy Synergy, Water Stewardship, Lighting the Way, The Air We Share, Sustainable by Design, and Smart Maintenance.
Since 2015, BEE Incorporations has developed state-of-the-art sustainable building solutions that benefit both the environment and the construction industry. LVMH continues its leadership in sustainability with initiatives like updating the "LIFE in Architecture" guide in 2015 to promote sustainable building practices.
In addition to this, LVMH collaborates with Paris Good Fashion on a Best Practices Guide for Parisian retailers, further demonstrating their commitment to sustainable fashion and retail practices.
The Parfums Christian Dior K11 store achieved the highest score across all criteria in the 2024 LIFE 360 in Stores Awards, making it a shining example of sustainable retail in the luxury industry. LVMH's unwavering dedication to sustainability is evident in their numerous initiatives and partnerships, setting a high standard for other companies to follow.
