Bamberg's Landscape Conservation Under Threat: LCA Fights for Preservation

Bamberg's Landscape Conservation Association (LCA) recently met with Mayor Nick Jonas Glüsenkamp and Tobias Schenk, head of the Climate and Environment Office, to discuss the urgent need for landscape conservation in the city. Despite efforts, information about biologist Adam's role in this process remains scarce.

The LCA, which maintains areas like the nature conservation-worthy meadows at the Altenburg, is funded by the Landscape Conservation and Nature Park Directive (LNPD). These funds are now at risk due to proposed cuts. The LCA works with experts, including biologist Adam, to protect endangered species such as the Small Blue butterfly, found on the meadows at the Altenburg.

The 'WE make landscape' campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving diverse habitats in Bavaria, particularly in Bamberg. Mayor Nick Jonas Glüsenkamp stressed the need to protect the landscape for biodiversity. However, additional care from farmers is necessary to prevent these areas from overgrowing in the long term.

The future of Bamberg's biologically valuable areas hangs in the balance due to threatened LNPD funds. The LCA, with the help of experts like Adam, continues to fight for their preservation. The 'WE make landscape' campaign seeks to rally support for this cause, with Mayor Nick Jonas Glüsenkamp leading the call for action.
