Headline: Autobahnpolizei Conducts Targeted Inspections on Heavy-Load Transports and Escort Vehicles
The Autobahnpolizei of the Police Inspectorate Magdeburg recently conducted a targeted inspection of heavy-load transports and escort vehicles from September 7 to September 12, 2025. These inspections were a response to the potential serious consequences of small errors in cargo securing or violations of driving and rest times, which could lead to severe accidents, significant property damage, and endanger lives.
The inspections focused on compliance with special permits, technical defects, and proper equipment. During the inspection, a total of 42 vehicles were checked, including 34 heavy-load transports and 8 escort vehicles.
In 14 cases, further travel was prohibited, and in four cases, heavy-load vehicles failed the departure inspection and were not allowed to start their journey. Six security deposits were made against foreign vehicle drivers, three warning fines were issued, and two defect reports were created.
Two escort vehicles were found without a valid registration regarding their special equipment for the variable traffic sign system. A total of 12 reports were drawn up and sent to the Central Fine Office, the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility, and the Trade Supervisory Office.
The inspections are not limited to a specific time frame; they will continue in the future as part of an ongoing effort to maintain safety on the roads. The traffic police inspection office that conducted the inspection was located in Bamberg, Germany.
The Autobahnpolizei will continue to enforce inspections, ensuring the safety of all road users. These inspections serve as a reminder of the importance of adhering to regulations and maintaining the proper equipment for heavy-load transports and escort vehicles. Violations can have serious consequences, potentially causing severe accidents, significant property damage, and endangering lives.
