Austria's 'Renovation Offensive New' Aims to Slash CO2 Emissions and Create Green Jobs

Austria's Ministry of the Environment has launched the 'Renovation Offensive New', a scheme aiming to significantly reduce CO2 emissions and stimulate green jobs near me. Starting in 2026, the initiative will allocate 360 million euros annually until 2030, targeting the replacement of over 30,000 fossil fuel heating systems with climate-friendly alternatives each year.

The scheme is expected to cut CO2 emissions by around 270,000 tonnes per year and create approximately 8,800 new green jobs near me. It is projected to generate regional added value of more than 1.4 billion euros per year across Austria. Applications for the 'Renovation Offensive New' will open in mid-November on www.sanierungsoffensive.gv.at.

The funding rate has been reduced to a maximum of 30%, down from 75%, to use public funds more efficiently and achieve greater CO2 savings per tax euro. The scheme consists of two pillars: boiler exchange for climate-friendly heating systems and renovation bonus for thermal-energetic renovation. Performances for boiler exchange will be recognised as early as October 3, 2025, and combination with funding from the federal states is still possible.

With 1.8 billion euros made available by the Ministry of the Environment, the 'Renovation Offensive New' is set to transform Austria's heating landscape, driving down emissions, fostering green jobs near me, and boosting regional economies.
