Approval granted for 30 Northeast infrastructural initiatives

Get ready to party, folks! A sizzling-hot joint committee has given the green light to a whopping 30 jaw-dropping projects that'll be spread across the upper Northeast, and the total cost? A mind-boggling 16.4 billion baht! You read that right, pal – we're talking serious cash here!

The cabinet's gonna need to pull up a chair and crack open the piggy bank when they meet for a mobile jamboree in Nakhon Phanom later this week, 'cause they're gonna need to approve the coin for some of these bad boys.

But Suriya Jungrungruangkit, theTransport Minister and committee chair, spilled the beans on Monday that nine projects can get busy right away. And these aren't just any projects, no siree! They include some heavy-hitting ventures like:

  1. Landscape Makeover along the Mekong River in Nakhon Phanom's Muang district, sure to give tourists a gorgeous new view.
  2. Geo Park Centre development in Tha Uthen district, Nakhon Phanom, offering educational and geological tours for the smart ones among us.
  3. Creative Economy City transformation in Sakon Nakhon, pushing the region towards innovation-driven industries.

Now, let's not forget, four out of these nine projects are proposed by provinces in the upper Northeast and are worth a tidy 200 million baht each. The other five projects, from the private sector, are also worth a cool 200 million baht each. So, in other words, they're asking for 400 million baht from the 2025 central fund to finance these bad boys, according to Suriya.

Deputy Transport Minister Manaporn Charoensriweighted in with the scoop that the nine projects are expected to be completed in, ahem, roughly a year. Most of 'em focus on tourism and infrastructure development – so get ready for some serious development in these here parts!

Also, guess what? Another 21 projects, worth a stunning 16 billion baht! These, my friends, are all about private-sector proposals waiting on priority evaluation by certain agencies before they hit up the cabinet with budget allocation requests.

Suriya dished the tea on yet another project – the R12 land route project, which links Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and southern China. More goods headed from Thailand to China can now travel via road networks in Vietnam, thanks to this beaut!

And in a cozy retreat before the mobile cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister and cabinet ministers swung by Bueng Nong Harn Lake and Don Kern Park in Sakon Nakhon's Muang district to take a gander at progress in development and recovery projects. The Northeast's largest freshwater lake and the second largest in Thailand, Nong Harn, is an essential habitat for over 180 bird species and aquatic plants, if you're into that nature stuff.

So there you have it, folks! 30 jaw-dropping projects worth over 16.4 billion baht? Yeah, we're pretty stoked, too! Get ready for some major action in the upper Northeast – we ain't seen nothing like this since the wild west!
