Aircraft AN-2 sustains damage upon rolling beyond the runway at Kolpashevo airport.

In Tomsk on May 23, an Antonov An-2 aircraft deviated from the runway at Kolpashovo Airport in the Tomsk Oblast region. The incident, which transpired around 7 PM local time, occurred after the plane, operated by OOO "Agat" and were conducting forestry aviation activities, veered off the runway following landing.

Preliminary findings point towards the aircraft leaving the runway boundary due to a combination of factor, which may include adverse weather conditions, potential mechanical issues, or human error by the pilot. Authorities have yet to provide an official cause for the incident.

Onboard the plane were three individuals, who fortunately, escaped unharmed. However, the aircraft sustained damage to its structural components as a result of the incident. The causes and circumstances surrounding the event are currently under investigation.

The Western Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office has initiated a probe into the compliance with aviation safety regulations. Investigators will examine the heart of the aircraft, interview the crew and witnesses, and scrutinize the airport's runway conditions, in addition to local weather reports at the time of the incident.

Authorities have not reported any injuries or fatalities in connection with this incident. A full report detailing the findings is expected to be released following the completion of the investigation, which may take several weeks.
