Affordable Large-scale Energy Storage for Under EUR 200 per kWh via Balcony Power Plant, Including Smart Meters and Additional Features
DURA-Solar Introduces Competitively Priced Smart Energy Storage Solution
DURA-Solar, a leading provider of solar energy solutions, has announced the launch of its SPAUN Energy Master storage system. The system, designed for higher consumption households, offers a range of capacities from 2.5 kWh to 12.5 kWh, making it suitable for various applications such as balconies, rooftops, gardens, and house walls.
The SPAUN Energy Master comes with a smart meter, which allows for intelligent charging and discharging according to power consumption (zero feed-in), and is included in the system's cost with no extra charge. This means that you do not pay separately for the smart meter when purchasing this system. The full system's storage cost starts from about 192 euros per kWh, making it a competitive option in the market.
The system includes 2 MPPT trackers and has a charging and discharging power of 1600 Watt. The largest capacity storage system (12.5 kWh) costs less than 200 Euro per kWh, and the amortization period for a complete system with a balcony power plant is expected to be two to four years.
The SPAUN Energy Master works with improved power electronics and software, and the system now also supports Tibber Pulse. The manufacturer provides a 10-year warranty on the storage and a 5-year warranty on the Energy Master.
The installation of the IR reader head for digital meters is simple and no specialist is needed. However, the installation of CT clamps for analog meters requires a specialist. The system can be retrofitted into most existing mini-solar systems, and the legislator allows feeding 800 watts instead of the previous 600 watts into the home network as part of the Solar Package I.
Financing of the storage system can be done through an independent credit comparison. The lifespan of the SPAUN Energy Master is approximately 20 years. In Germany, around 300,000 balcony power plants were in use in 2023, and over 700,000 are expected in 2024. With the SPAUN Energy Master, households can reduce their electricity costs by up to 66 percent (up to 800 euros per year according to DURA-Solar).
